Commission an Original Painting

A commissioned painting is an opportunity to acquire an original work created especially for you, while remaining distinctly part of my artistic practice.

Together, we’ll establish the essential parameters of the piece. You may choose the size and orientation, select a color palette, and share existing works from my portfolio that you feel particularly drawn to. These references help me understand the qualities you respond to, whether that’s a certain sense of movement, atmosphere, restraint, or visual energy.

From there, the creative process is entrusted to me.

My paintings are developed intuitively, through layers of color, texture, gesture, and response. I rarely know exactly where a painting will end when I begin it, and that element of discovery is an important part of the work. Because of this, I cannot reproduce an existing painting or promise a predetermined composition. Previous works may serve as inspiration, but every commission will become something entirely its own.

Commissioning a painting from me means choosing the parameters while allowing room for the unexpected.

The result is a one-of-a-kind original created specifically for you, within the agreed-upon size, orientation, and color direction, while retaining the creative freedom that defines my work.
